All-Ceramic Crowns and Bridges

Our team at Parks Family Dental uses all-ceramic dental crowns and bridges to restore broken or missing teeth. These restorations are metal-free, which we believe are more aesthetically pleasing and comfortable for our patients.

We offer high-quality porcelain restorations that can enhance your tooth's function and perfect the appearance of your smile. To ensure a flawless fit, we take digital impressions of your mouth to create fully customized natural-looking, durable dental crowns and bridges that can last for many years.

Why Might I Need a Crown or Bridge?

Crowns fix many dental issues, such as breaks, chips, stains, decay, and weakness due to root canals. If we cannot repair a decayed or broken tooth using tooth-colored fillings, we can use a crown as a protective cap to cover large areas of the damaged tooth.

We also use crowns and bridges to bridge a gap in your teeth created by an extraction or tooth loss. Whatever your needs may be, we can help you find the best available treatment for your oral health and individual appearance.

Dental Crowns

A dental crown is a tooth-colored, durable cap that fits over a broken, damaged, decayed, or brittle tooth. Dental crowns protect the teeth from further damage, preserve the natural tooth’s structure, and drastically improve your a tooth's shape, strength, size, and appearance.

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge replaces one or several missing teeth, closing the gaps in your smile. It consists of a ceramic prosthetic tooth called a pontic that we secure to abutment teeth on each side of the tooth gap.

CEREC Same-Day Dental Crowns

CEREC same-day dental crowns are one of the many advanced technologies we offer at Parks Family Dental. CEREC is an acronym for “Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics,” also known as CEramic REConstruction. It relies on CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/manufacturing) technology to take quick impressions and create a precisely fitted ceramic crown.

We have a milling machine on site where we create your customized crowns so you can leave our dental office the same day with a new and improved smile.

What Is the Porcelain Crown and Bridge Process?

First, we take digital dental impressions of your mouth to create the crowns and bridges. If you choose traditional crowns, we send the images to a local trusted dental lab, where a trained specialist creates them for you.

It can take a few weeks for the lab to fabricate your final crown, so we'll place a custom-fit temporary crown to use in the meantime. If you prefer not to wait weeks for your lab-fabricated crown, we offer CEREC same-day dental crowns at our Mauldin dental office.

Before placing the crown, we prepare your tooth to create room for the restoration to fit. We smooth down the adjacent teeth for the bridge to allow the pontic teeth to easily and comfortably sit on top. Once we place the restoration, we shape and polish the crown to match the look of your natural teeth.

If well cared for, crowns and bridges can last up to 10 years or longer.

In addition to creating and placing all-ceramic crowns and bridges, we also perform restoration repair and adjustments. If you break or chip your crown or need your bridge adjusted, Dr. Parks and our team can fix it for you, so it looks, feels, and functions comfortably.

Digital Impressions

Digital impressions, also known as 3-D intraoral scanning, capture a detailed replica of a patient’s mouth. Dr. Parks uses a wand-like tool connected to a computer to create a virtual model of your teeth, gums, jaws, and more.

After scanning the hard and soft tissues of your mouth, Dr. Parks sends the digital impression to a trusted dental lab where trained specialists create your custom crowns, bridges, dentures, or clear aligners.

Digital impressions are versatile as we use them for several treatments, and they are more accurate than messy traditional impressions.

CEREC Same-Day Dental Crowns

Among the many dental innovations we use at Parks Family Dental, CEREC same-day dental crowns are perhaps one of our patients' favorites. With CEREC same-visit crowns, we can restore your smile in a single dental appointment, so you don't have to wait weeks to chew, speak, and laugh comfortably again.

Dr. Lyle Parks takes a digital impression of your smile and creates a crown, or multiple crowns, using our on-site milling machine. Dr. Parks sits with you to review your aesthetic goals and oral health needs. We want you to be involved in the process, to ensure that your crown exceeds your expectations.

After your consultation with Dr. Parks, he creates your crown to complement your facial features and natural smile, so it looks and feels beautiful.

Many of our patients love CEREC same-day crowns because they are:

  • Efficient
  • Extremely accurate
  • Comfortable
  • Fully functional
  • Convenient

This technology is a game-changer and can improve your smile in one day! To learn more about this innovative technology, please contact our office or read more about our services and procedures.
